Who We Are

Returning to the Source
The name Temple Abzu was given in ceremony as a seed planted. Abzu is an ancient Sumerian word, and it refers to a primordial freshwater lake deep beneath the Earth’s surface, the source from which all life emerged. It is the source of all sacred waters, the veins and channels that connect the wells, lakes, springs, and rivers of the world. The Abzu represents life’s origin, a sacred flow of living waters that sustain existence itself. Life cannot exist without it.
The word Abzu is also the root of the word “abyss,” signifying the great mystery of creation—the deep, swirling feminine vortex from which all things emerge. The Abzu is the dark ocean of unmanifest potential, the place where creation begins and ends.
The Abzu is not just an ancient myth or a distant memory. It is a reminder of the unseen, primal forces of creation that move through the cosmos and the Earth. The name Abzu carries with it the wisdom and mystery of the waters and the forces that shape us. It is a temple of connection to the deep, the primal, the mysterious. It is a place where we remember our origins—the place and the infinite nature from which we have all come and to which we will one day return.
Just as the waters of the Abzu are the source of life, so too is this a space for the rebirth of spirit, where we can drink deeply from the well of creation and be nourished in body, mind, and soul.

Core Values

Safety
Safety is the container that allows for true healing, transformation, and trust in the process. We uphold this through a trauma-informed approach, ensuring that each person is met with care, awareness, and respect for their unique journey.
On a physical level, this means first-aid readiness, medical screening, and protocols that prioritize well-being. On a spiritual level, it is about deep energetic integrity—honoring the unseen, maintaining clear boundaries, and ensuring that the ceremonial space remains protected. Safety is not just about preventing harm; it is about creating the conditions for surrender, expression, and profound healing, where each person can move through their process knowing they are fully held.

Integrity
Integrity is the unwavering commitment to living in alignment with our values, honoring the sacraments with respect, and upholding the highest ethical standards in all we do.
It is reflected in the way we hold space—with devotion and humility—always prioritizing the well-being of those in our care. It is in our commitment to honoring the wisdom of the plants and the traditions they come from, ensuring they are approached with reverence and responsibility. It is in how we show up authentically, speak truthfully, and act in alignment with the principles we teach.
To walk in integrity is to walk in devotion, humility, and truth. It is not a concept but a practice, a lived experience that shapes every ceremony, every interaction, and every decision. This is the path we commit to, in service to the sacraments, Mother Earth, and all those who come to heal.

Right Relationship
Right relationship is about walking in harmony with all of life, understanding that every action, every choice, and every prayer ripples out into the greater whole. It is a way of being that recognizes the interconnectedness of all things.
To be in right relationship is to honor the Earth and the medicines as sacred teachers, treating them with deep respect and gratitude. It is to nurture community and connection, knowing that true healing happens in the presence of others who witness and support us. It is to engage in reciprocity—giving as much as we receive—ensuring that our work uplifts the land, the people, and the traditions that sustain us.
Right relationship is both a responsibility and a devotion. It is a way of walking with care, humility, and reverence for all of existence. In every ceremony, in every interaction, and in every breath, we uphold this sacred commitment.

Personal Empowerment
True healing is about awakening to your own innate power. We honor the healer within you, recognizing that the medicines we work with are not here to save you—they are here to reveal you to yourself. Healing begins from within, through the willingness to face, reclaim, and integrate the lost, buried, or fragmented parts of yourself.
Empowerment isn’t found by seeking answers outside yourself. It comes from trusting your own inner knowing. We do not place ourselves as gurus or healers—we are guides, holding space for you to remember your own wisdom, strength, and capacity to transform. This is a path of self-responsibility, sovereignty, and liberation—where healing is not something given, but something you claim for yourself.
It is only by taking full ownership of your journey—your patterns, your wounds, your choices—that you can step into true freedom.

Our Sacraments
We serve Grandmother Ayahuasca, Psilocybin, and 5MeO-DMT, each a sacred and naturally occurring teacher with profound wisdom to share. These sacraments are living intelligences—conscious allies that guide us into deeper communion with the Divine, the self, and the interconnected web of our existence.
We honor these medicines in their full, unaltered form, as they have been carried through lineages of wisdom for generations. Unlike the reductionist approach of Western medicinal use, which isolates compounds of the sacraments from their natural state and disconnects them from their spirit, we believe that the power of the sacrament lies in its wholeness. Each plant and medicine is a sacred portal, not merely for biochemical interaction, but for a co-creative merging of consciousness between the sacrament and the seeker.
Our sacraments are ethically sourced with great intention and respect. Through ceremony, we enter into a relationship with these medicines, listening deeply and allowing them to guide us into the realms of healing, revelation, and remembrance.
